RE: Where to go for RV fishing trip in AZ or New Mex in November
Look at the San Juan at Navajo Dam, NM
Awesome fishing!!! Just be aware there are rangers always watching for fisherman “shuffling”. It’s illegal and they will fine you , kick you off the river and take pleasure doing it. I’ve watched it more than once. Bad weather beats good there since there are fewer fisherman out in the rain and snow.
What is " shuffling " ?

RE: How do you transport your golf cart?
We currently use just a 5x10 trailer behind the 5er. I'm almost ready to just chuck it & go toyhaulerf.
Was real close to buying a rig as in your photo but after a lot of thought and some info on another forum just tried the dbl tow which is legal in my regular travels, but as I said I just don't like it. Problem is my wife's disability is getting worse and her 4 wheel scooter doesn't work real well off pavement so we take the golf car.

RE: Center pin box question
IIRC correctly B&W can use the Reese Sidewinder wedge for those turning pinbox setups.

RE: hitch questions (update)
I was useing an 18K Patriot before I went airhitch. It's a great hitch & I would just put the rails in unless you plan on getting some monster size 5er in the future. That's would be the time to switch to a heavier hitch. My opinion & worth every dollar you've paid for it,lol

RE: Sleep apnea
I've been on a CPAP since March 1997. Would I like to not have to use it, yes, but I like to sleep without the increased possibility of a stroke or heart attack. When I did the sleep study ( 25 events per hour ) they woke me & put me on a CPAP. I felt like a million bucks when I woke the next morning.. yes I was overweight but now maintain a lot lower weight. I think once you get it you got it
There is an alternative device that a dentist must prescribe BUT you have to have completed a sleep study prescribed by a Doctor. Also a throats operation but I have met 3 that have done this and not one was a success.

RE: Fifth wheel chucking (practical help needed)
When I had a Reese hitch I found keeping some amount of water in the fresh water tank helped with chucking. But my 5er is heavier .. I allways thought it might of had more to do with the sloppy machining of the jaws on the standard Reese hitch?i went to a BW Patriot and ride much better but found a deal on a used airride hitch. With my AirSafe airbag hitch no chucking/bouncing etc

RE: Proper Power Receptacle For Home?
One thing is pretty much a sure thing and that is it's way cheaper now to wire up a 50/30 rv panel than it will be down the road.

RE: Financing Rates These Days
Our friend financed a used 2018 TT end of June & she was poked for 9.75 . She was going to get a better rate at her CU but let them know she was going to live in it for a few years at a job out of state. They wouldn't finance full time RV's.
In this current market I would finance the 450 & not the rv. The 450 would be way easier to sale if needed than the toyhauler IMO. I would carry the notes on both for a simple 20% down, 20% interest, for 5 years ??

Smart money is hire a rv transport company since this is a one way one time trip. Why risk it ?

RE: 2024 Chevy 3500 verses 2023 F350
about the only thing I saw worth any difference between the two was the fuel tank size. Extra 12 gallons in the ford is nice.
I gotta stop way before 36 gal much less 48:o

RE: AC getting amperage spike after an hour use.
Did I not understand what breaker is tripping ? The AC is tripping only the house or genny breaker BUT not the breaker in the rv for the AC or RV main breaker ? If that's the case, I doubt it's actually an AC issue but a wireing issue such as in your shore power cord.

RE: Open Ground
You guys keep telling me I am wrong. So I will ask of all of you again.
A GFCI trips because there is more current flowing from the HOT pin into a load than there is flowing from the load back to the NEU pin. That creates the required imbalance in current required to trip the GFCI. It also means that difference in current has somehow been diverted out of the normal flow path. Now where did that current go? Current can ONLY flow to/from the initial power source, i.e. the required “closed loop”. A most basic principle of electricity. That means the missing current has to have an electrically conductive path back to that power source. If the RV is not grounded to the generator, where is that required path? That current can not simply disappear.
This is a simple question that no one seems to want to address.
You have a frayed extension cord plugged into a RV GFCI & you have your hand in contact with a small tear in the insulation . You are now in contact with the HOT leg & you for some reason grab a metal water pipe. That's a path to gnd with you as the conductor which now is the unbalance the GFCI is there to protect you from . . I know, what are the odds of this happening ?
When GFCI plugs became the requirement , was takeing a class on a product we installed & the instructor made a claim you could hold a hot wire on a GFCI circuit & jump into a swimming pool & not get hurt but we couldn't talk him into doing a demo

RE: Rocket exhaust from diesel regen
May look into a Banks exhaust system if it becomes a problem
Link
I haven't done the exhaust on my 2012 simply because the only benefit I got on my 2003 ( - ) was my DW gripping about how loud the truck was now. Honestly never saw any measurable performance gain.

RE: Coachma Spirit water ?
Thanks everyone
She says no valves just the hose bibs & I looked at on line manual & it says just check valve.
I told her to try running pump since tank has water & see if CV doesnt re seat.
She is living in it 3+ hrs away so I suggested a mobile tech

Coachma Spirit water ?
Friend bought a used Forest River Coachman Spirit & no user manual. She has 2 inlets marked City & tank fill. Hooked up and useing City inlet but for some reason the tank is filling & overflowing. Does this rv have valves mot easily seen or just a bad check valve on water pump. I havent seen it just a phone conversation.
Any one know this rv ?

RE: Who makes the shocks?
On my 2011 Jayco Eagle the axles are on the bottom of the spring I used Monroe 555025 . IIRC etrailer has 2lengths & the longer one is the yellow ( same as Monroe ) & a shorter black one Monroee does have an online chart with the demensions and travel lengths.

RE: Tree Fell onto My Fifth Wheel
I really don't know about Ca but was the tree yours or your neighbors ? Was it dead or a healthy living tree. If it was a dead tree on your neighbors property then they are liable but if live it's an Act of GOD. My Daughter went thru a similar tree problem last year
